Intramural Sports Complex

In the fall of 2015, Asa Engineering and Consulting, Inc. was selected by the University of Tennessee for its Chattanooga Campus annual civil engineering consulting contract.  Immediately upon contract execution, UTC engaged Asa to provide master planning, preliminary engineering design, and cost estimating services for the proposed 17-acre, Intramural Sports Complex located next to historic Engel Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The master planning phase includes the addition of six (6) multi-use synthetic turf fields (flag football, ultimate frisbee, soccer, lacrosse); a multi-use recreational trail with fitness stations; an urban garden; stormwater green infrastructure elements; lighting; restroom and maintenance buildings; streetscape along O’Neal Street; and various other elements that are complimentary of historic Engel Stadium.  Planning was completed in March of 2016 with full engineering design services expected to begin in the fall of 2017.

Allen Jones, RLA serves as the Planner and Landscape Architect, Micah Duffey is the Civil Design Engineer and Jeff Sikes serves as the Sr. Project Manager.
