Ooltewah-Ringgold Road & Standifer Gap Road Intersection Improvements
In March of 2015, Asa was selected by the Hamilton County Engineering Department to provide TDOT Local Programs CEI services on the proposed intersection improvements at Ooltewah-Ringgold Road and Standifer Gap Road. The existing 4-way, 2-lane intersection has an ADT of approximately 12,000 vehicles and a significant history of crashes. The construction included a round-a-bout with a 110’ inscribed diameter; 250’ roadway tapers in all directions; curb, gutter, and drainage improvements; and phased construction to accommodate the maintenance of daily traffic during the 180-day project.
Asa Engineering & Consulting, Inc. served as the prime consultant responsible for delivering the project through construction. Asa provided pre-construction and as-built surveying, construction management, construction inspection, EPSC inspection, and final records management services in accordance with the TDOT Local Government Guidelines for the Management of Federal and State Funded Transportation Projects.
Asa staff members assigned to this project include: Jeff Sikes (Construction Manager), Christy MacKenzie (Final Records), Chris Turley and Roger Riemer (Surveyors), Shane Fletcher (CEI Inspector), and Brandon Kerley (CEI Plant and Quarry Inspector).
